Truck Wheel Balancing
- A procedure that ensures that the weight of the wheel is distributed evenly to improve performance and cut tire wear. Static balancing distributes the weight of the wheel evenly around the axle or Spindle and is done with the wheels off the vehicle.
- The method of reducing the hammer blow caused by the action of the pistons driving the cranks as the crank approaches bottom dead centre. Driving wheels had weights fitted into their rims to act as a counter balance. (PRC)
- hand truck: a handcart that has a frame with two low wheels and a ledge at the bottom and handles at the top; used to move crates or other heavy objects
- Barter or exchange
- an automotive vehicle suitable for hauling
If you own an RV, Heavy Duty Truck, Tractor, Tractor Trailer, Heavy Haul Trailer, or any vehicle that requires 35PSI or more. No one has to tell you the importance of maintaining proper tire pressure. Tire Failure or premature wear are a guarantee without properly inflated tires. PSIclops XL180 is built from a heavy duty aluminum casing around an illuminated inflation dial. (Batteries Included) Truckers, RV owners, or anyone with tires needing 35PSI or more will want to have this in the vehicle as it will save the day on a low tire or simply checking the air pressure
Motion blur with truck wheels
Usable as design background for transport communication etc
This image was taken with an extreme 15 mm wide angle, so the truck drove by just a meter away. The speed of the truck was quite slow (appr. 30 km/h), so I could get the chance to try different angles.
Shutter speed was only 1/25, but enough to force the motion into the image. I used the 12-24 DX lens from Nikon, but forced the D700 to FX, so I could use the full wide angle of the lens. I did have to stamp away a bit of the dark corners.
Motion blur 100% out of the camera.
White balance was set to cloudy, to get a bit of a warm feeling/sun fall. The image was taken in the early afternoon.
1930 Ford Truck Wheels
I like the composition of these two red rim wheels. Each at the opposite cross direction of the picture and gives a good balance view. If you look carefully in the center of the rim, my reflaction was captured in both rims. Need to make myself invisible attending to such event in future.

1893 Print World's Fair Judge Mildew Meadow Springs Indiana Tickets Ferris Wheel - Original Cover
This is an ultra-rare original 1893 rear color cover from the Chicago "The Inter Ocean" Illustrated Supplement showing the difficulties that Judge Mildew of Meadow Springs, Indiana ran into at the Exposition. He is seen falling off a fire hydrant, climbing up the steps, and breaking a chair.
Art Young (1866-1943) was a cartoonist and writer known for his work with the magazine, The Masses. At the age of 17, Young sent drawings to various Chicago journals, when he was accepted by the Judge Magazine. From there, he worked with the Chicago Evening Mail while attending the Academy of Design, and became well-known in the area. During his career, he contributed cartoons to The Saturday Evening Post, Collier's Weekly, and The New Yorker. The work shown in this image was created during the beginning of Young's career, at the age of twenty-seven.
Period Paper has obtained arguably one of the most rare, exclusive collections of original color images of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair (The World's Columbian Exposition). Over the last several years we have acquired and sold thousands of items from this Exposition, and we continue to offer lithographs, prints, and photogravures. However; this exclusive collection is not offered publicly anywhere else. The original front and rear covers from Chicago's coveted The Inter Ocean Illustrated Supplement from 1893 are stunning in their size, color saturation, and condition. This was the very first color supplement produced on a high speed newspaper press, developed in late 1892 in preparation for the Exposition. The Inter Ocean was released 3 times per week at times during the Exposition. Most of the cartoons were produced by a pair at opposite ends of their careers-- Thomas Nast and Art Young.
Please note that there is printing on the reverse.
Mendocino Prayer Wheels p26
Someone I did not know gave me this postcard while they were at the Prayer Wheels. At the end of the afternoon Max and Steve and I took the Prayer Wheels down. Two people each wanted to buy one of them to put in their home gardens. I charged the cost of my film and processing. Then Max & I took one of them to a very private spot through Little River cemetery and threw it into the ocean at the blowhole and watched it swirl in the clear water for a long time before it slowly sank. The white tickets were brilliant against the jade green water. It seemed certain that the sea gods would read them next. I kept one and put it in my garden for a year and included it in an art show as well. It weakened as it weathered and I burned most of it in a wood fire finally. But I kept the top piece, the small pizza for a very long time and finally burned it a few years ago, feeling it was time the entire thing disappeared at last.
The day after taking Mendocino Prayer Wheels down Liz and I returned to check the spot. We put a quartz crystal down each of the holes made by the poles. We also found these two tickets from the Prayer Wheels caught in the tall grass. I still think they are each so brilliant and remarkable. I'm glad all over again that they were there for me at the very end.
On the right -
"There's a wish giver that lives in the wind and when this wheel turns he will hear your wish then he will take it to the sun and the sun will make it happen. He will bring your wish to the clouds and they will blow around the world bringing your wish to everyone and everything. Then the world will change for the better or what you have wished for. So wait for the wish giver."
On the left-
"The girl in the ice cream parlor has nice tits."
So be it. May all sincere wishes and prayers be heard and carried around the world and be realized for the highest good of all being everywhere.
From the End Of the World To Your Town... Captain Fantastic And the Brown Dirt Cowboy
Collage (with acrylics) on paper 46x61 cm (2009) starring Captain fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy.
CAPTAIN FANTASTIC AND THE BROWN DIRT COWBOY
Music and lyrics by Elton John and Bernie Taupin
Captain Fantastic raised and regimented, hardly a hero
Just someone his mother might know
Very clearly a case for corn flakes and classics
"Two teas both with sugar please"
In the back of an alley
While little Dirt Cowboys turned brown in their saddles
Sweet chocolate biscuits and red rosy apples in summer
For it's hay make and "Hey mom, do the papers say anything good.
Are there chances in life for little Dirt Cowboys
Should I make my way out of my home in the woods"
Brown Dirt Cowboy, still green and growing
City slick Captain
Fantastic the feedback
The honey the hive could be holding
For there's weak winged young sparrows that starve in the winter
Broken young children on the wheels of the winners
And the sixty-eight summer festival wallflowers are thinning
For cheap easy meals and hardly a home on the range
Too hot for the band with a desperate desire for change
We've thrown in the towel too many times
Out for the count and when we're down
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
From the end of the world to your town
And all this talk of Jesus coming back to see us
Couldn't fool us
For we were spinning out our lines walking on the wire
Hand in hand went music and the rhyme
The Captain and the Kid stepping in the ring
From here on sonny sonny sonny, it's a long and lonely climb
world of wheels tickets
Up, down and all around! There's fun in every direction as kids discover how to make things happen in this amusement park and experience the excitement of a real one, complete with fun sounds and action. Includes two Little People characters, roller coaster car, connectable ticket booth fence and removable flag. Add to the fun when you add the Little People Musical Ferris Wheel and Parading Pals (sold separately). Requires 3 "AA" alkaline batteries (not included).
Designed to encourage early role play, this small, colorful amusement park is centered on a roller-coaster track that winds around a sharp curve. When the roller-coaster car hits the purple star that hangs from above, a monkey drops into a dunk tank. ("Ooh-ee-ah!") Sonya Lee can ride the freestanding, two-person rocket ship, while Smiley the Clown collects tickets or listens to music coming from the twirling teacups. This would be a fun, developmentally rich toy for preschoolers. Required, but not included, are three AA batteries. --Andy Boynton
